As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Whitworth has advanced training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries and defects impacting functional and aesthetic aspects of soft and hard tissues of the mouth. Dr. Whitworth received his dental degree Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry and was a recipient of the Honorary Omicron Kappa Upsilon award, as one of the top five students in his class. He then received his medical degree from Harvard University Medical School, followed by an internship and two-year residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He completed his two-year oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at Beth Israel/Deaconess, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General and Boston Children’s Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Whitworth received extensive training in all facets of oral surgery and the art and science of dental implants. As a highly experienced implant dentist, Dr. Whitworth has placed more than 5,000 dental implants in a decades-long career.
